Use Icanpreneur with ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools
Use Icanpreneur in ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools to make product and go-to-market decisions grounded in customer evidence. Ask your Buyer Personas for feedback while developing an offer, reviewing a product idea, or preparing client deliverables in the same conversation.
Your assistant can retrieve your saved Canvas, research, interviews, and documents, and create or update work in Icanpreneur. When you ask a Buyer Persona a question, Icanpreneur generates its response using the persona's research context.

Answers appear in your AI conversation. When you ask the assistant to create or update Canvas items, research, scripts, interviews, notes, or GTM assets, those changes are saved in Icanpreneur and are available in the platform. Discussing a suggestion does not automatically update your workspace; ask the assistant to save the changes you want.
MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is the connection that lets an assistant use Icanpreneur's tools. These instructions use a manual connection through a server URL, so you do not need to find Icanpreneur in an app directory.
Before you start
To use Icanpreneur through MCP, you need an Icanpreneur account with an active license or an active trial, and an assistant that supports remote MCP connections. To work with an existing workspace, your account must have access to it. You can also create a new startup workspace through the assistant.
Your assistant's plan or organization settings may restrict which connections and actions are available.

Authentication: OAuth 2.0. When connecting, you'll be redirected to log in to your Icanpreneur account.
Connect once per assistant using your Icanpreneur account. Then tell it which workspace and item you want to work with.

Use ChatGPT on the web for this setup.
- Open Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name the connection Icanpreneur and enter the server URL above.
- Select OAuth as the authentication method. When prompted, log in to your Icanpreneur account.
- Review the access notice, create the connection, and review the discovered tools.
- Install the resulting plugin. Start a new chat, type @, and select Icanpreneur.
ChatGPT's custom MCP capabilities vary by plan. OpenAI currently documents full read/write access for Business and Enterprise/Edu, and read/fetch access for Pro. Check OpenAI's current requirements and setup guide, including the alternative steps if your account shows the older Apps interface.
Claude
Use Claude on the web or Claude Desktop for setup.
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Click Add, then select Add custom connector.
- Name it Icanpreneur and enter the server URL above.
- Connect and log in to your Icanpreneur account when redirected.
- Start a chat and enable Icanpreneur from + → Connectors.
Free accounts allow one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise accounts, an owner may need to enable the connector first. See Claude's connector guide for your account's steps.
Other tools
In your AI tool's MCP settings, add a remote server named Icanpreneur, enter the same server URL, and use OAuth 2.0 authentication. When redirected, log in to your Icanpreneur account. Enable the connection and let the tool discover its actions.
The tool must support Icanpreneur's remote MCP transport and authentication. Follow its own configuration instructions; the available actions can differ by client and permissions.
Start with your Buyer Persona
If you already have a Buyer Persona, try this short sequence after connecting. Replace the bracketed details with your own.
- Find your workspace and persona: "Use Icanpreneur to list the workspaces I can access. In '[workspace],' show me the available Buyer Personas."
- Ask for feedback on your current work: "Ask '[persona]' to review this offer: [text or URL]. What appeals to them, what creates doubt, and what would they need to know before buying?"
- Continue the conversation: "Ask the persona to explain their biggest concern. Then help me revise the offer to address it."
This brings your research-backed persona into the work you are already doing. To keep the result for your team, ask the assistant to save the agreed conclusions as a note in your workspace.
If you are starting a new workspace, ask the assistant to create one from your business description. If you do not have a persona yet, use the interview-to-persona example below.

Name the startup workspaces you want to include. Your Icanpreneur account must have access to each workspace.

For multi-step requests, your assistant may ask for missing details such as the customer segment, interview script, or language. Interview analysis, persona generation, and asset creation can take time; the assistant should check their status before using the results.
Your assistant can only access workspaces and perform actions allowed by your Icanpreneur permissions. Ask the assistant to propose changes first when you want to review them before they are saved. In ChatGPT, select Icanpreneur again when a later request needs new platform data or another action.
For persona feedback, ask for your actual Icanpreneur persona. Its underlying evidence may include real or synthetic interviews; ask where the feedback is uncertain and what still needs testing with real customers.
Access, data, and credits
The integration uses the authenticated account's Icanpreneur permissions. Supported actions can create or update platform data, subject to the assistant's permissions and confirmation controls.
Your assistant receives the information returned by Icanpreneur when it uses the connection. The AI provider's data-handling terms and settings also apply.
Reading saved information uses no Icanpreneur AI credits. Buyer Persona answers and other Icanpreneur AI operations, such as generating interview scripts or GTM assets, use your existing Icanpreneur credit pool at the platform's standard rates.

Need help?
If you cannot add the connection, confirm that your Icanpreneur license or trial is active, then check your assistant's plan and organization permissions. If a workspace or persona is missing, check the Icanpreneur account you connected and ask the assistant to list the available workspaces.
You can disconnect Icanpreneur in your assistant's plugin or connector settings.
